Are you looking for an MBA program that doesn’t require the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test)? In this article, we will review several options to enroll in an MBA program without taking the GMAT. Most business schools require a good GMAT score before admitting applicants to their MBA programs as well as several years of work experience. So, does the MBA without GMAT exist? The short answer is yes, but keep reading to learn details. Here we will talk about: MBA No GMAT U.S. and Europe. Check also: online MBA programs – no GMAT required.
In the U.S. most universities and business schools demand at least two to three years of relevant work experience before admitting hopefuls to their MBA programs. Bear in mind that even if some schools may accept applicants without any work experience, candidates with work experience will be preferred and accepted easier.
There are universities that offer Executive MBA programs which do not require the GMAT. These programs usually take a limited period of time to complete, like one year. For a regular MBA, almost every U.S. university demands that you take the GMAT. It is one of the most important criteria for admission.
For international students, the GMAT is needed for their U.S. student visas. Getting a U.S. student visa without taking the GMAT is next to impossible, even if you already are in the possession of an admission from a school.
UCLA Anderson School of Management (Los Angeles) has not removed the GMAT from their admission criteria but uses no minimum score. For their Executive MBA program, they don’t demand the GMAT at all. Some business schools now waive the test on an individual basis, while others have taken GMAT from their admissions requirements altogether.
Although taking the GMAT is required, at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School (North Carolina) it is waived for those applicants who have technical positions or advanced degrees. At this business school, about one-third of all applicants can skip it.
In New Zealand, you must have considerable work experience prior to enrolling in any of the MBA programs. Most business schools demand a minimum of four years of relevant work experience before you will be admitted to an MBA program, but not all New Zealand business schools require the GMAT for admission. Please check individual schools for requirements.
There are many international institutions that do not require GMAT scores before admitting you to their MBA programs, the reason being that these schools either run their own internal tests or use different methods before admitting applicants to their MBA programs. Please check out individual schools for their specific requirements. You could be pleasantly surprised.
